Happy New Year!
Well I am finally back. Oh, where was I? Well, first I was in Sudbury for a week and for the last week I have been in CUBA with my entire family. Even my 18 month old niece was there. Naturally, we brought our bicycles, so I will be posting a blog (probably starting tomorrow) about our trip over on www.domestically_challenged.typepad.com/cycling. But for now, back to the knitting.
I love Christmas. Every year my entire family gets together in Sudbury. My mom loves Christmas ornaments, so the house is always beautifully decorated. The food is also amazing. Not just the turkey dinner either. My mom usually makes the family lasagna and her special Caesar salad. So good! My niece was especially cute this year because she can now talk a bit. Her favourite words are "No!" and "Baby Beluga". She also says, "Bye, baby" whenever she sees someone with their coat on. Very funny.
This Christmas is also a very good time for stash enhancement. It is my third Christmas as a knitter, so I guess people have decided that it's safe get me knitting related presents. My parents, who are very practical people and who know about my yarn snobbish-ness, got me some gift certificates to Romni and Lettuce Knit along with a cute lamb measuring tape. They also got me Stephanie's new book which I already knew I was getting because my mom got me to tote it to the Harlot's book launch and have her sign it. My little brother, who is very brave, got me some yarn. Good yarn. It was Manos del Uruguay in a great colour way that he found in Sudbury. Manos in Sudbury? I've been concerned about the yarn supply in that city ever since my friends reported that the House of Yarn stopped selling Lamb's Pride.
I also found these in my stocking. So Old-School!
Thankfully, my parents got me a digital camera to replace the one that was dipped in the Aegean Sea. Incidentally, this one is waterproof.
